Generics

• Select 2-3 GPOs:

  • Execute Participation Agreement for each GPO you want your wholesaler to load (it could take up to 30 days for contracts to be available)There is no cost to Pharmacy for utilizing multiple GPOs. Advise wholesaler to load generics from selected GPOs and utilize best price logic for orders. Ask Wholesaler to provide a list of contracts loaded for each GPO to verify.

  • Log on to LTCgenerics.com and complete membership information selecting a login and password. You will receive an e-mail within 24 hours advising that your access has been approved. Buyer can begin to order products by uploading an CVS file which will search database and provide a report of the NDC numbers currently purchased and potential savings.
    

Branded

• Group Purchasing Organizations:

  • Review pricing for Branded Manufacturers which limit pharmacy to accesing pricing from a single GPO. Excel Rx GSO will provide contract information and provide recommendations based on our members historical purchases, after an NDA has been executed by the Pharmacy. (Depending on the manufacturer it can take 30-60 days before wholesaler will receive authorization to load a specific contract. Ask the wholesaler to advise the pharmacy when authorization is received from the manufacturer)

Follow-Up

• Review Pharmacies top 100 generics looking for alternative products that offer savings of greater than 3% from current product purchased. (Review each GPO and LTCgenerics.com)
  
  Review quarterly reports identifying possible alternatives to items currently purchased to lower acquisition cost.

Fact

• If you're current GPO has the lowest price on all the products the pharmacy purchases their volume is unaffected. The pharmacy wins if lower prices are available, through Excel Rx GSO's Programs.
